Is an extended warranty available?
Mazda Australia only offers an extended factory warranty for passenger vehicles. The program does not apply to commercial vehicles (such as the BT-50). It can only be purchased at time of new vehicle sale or when the vehicle is purchased second hand from Penfold Mazda within the existing warranty period. It adds a further twelve months with unlimited kilometres to the standard three year warranty term. Terms and conditions during this fourth year are the same for the standard three year period.

Does my New Passenger Car Warranty include the body panels?
The Mazda New Car Warranty covers body parts for 36 months. Body panels (sheet metal) are warranted against perforation (rust through) for 72 months from the earlier date of the Mazda passenger car first being registered, sold at retail or otherwise being driven, used or operated. For this warranty to be valid, the vehicle must be maintained in accordance with the ‘Owner’s Responsibility’ conditions as set out in the Warranty Information booklet.
Refer to your Owner’s Manual for recommended cleaning and maintenance instructions which include the removal of environmental fallout (such as bird-droppings).

Will my New Vehicle Warranty be affected if I get my Mazda serviced elsewhere?
The New Vehicle Warranty is not conditional on having your vehicle serviced by the Mazda Dealer Network.
Please ensure the service agent strictly follows the maintenance schedule and uses genuine Mazda parts. Should you experience any difficulty with your vehicle during the warranty period and the cause is attributed to improper servicing, any rectifications will not be covered. Without a genuine Mazda service history, any concern will require the review of your fully documented service history, demonstrating your vehicle has been serviced at the appropriate times to Mazda standard and specification.
For peace of mind, we recommend servicing be performed only at Penfold Mazda. Only dealership staff are trained by Mazda and possess the latest specialist knowledge and equipment to ensure your vehicle is operating correctly with the latest engine management configuration.
For added piece of mind, any genuine Mazda parts fitted by Penfold Mazda carry a Whole of Life Warranty.

If my vehicle is being repaired under warranty, are my expenses covered?
The Mazda New Vehicle Warranty covers the repair or replacement of any genuine Mazda part that is defective in material or workmanship, within the warranty term, without charge to the owner.
It does not cover any expense relative to transportation of the vehicle to or from Penfold Mazda or any consequential, indirect or incidental loss or damage. This includes costs associated with having a concern addressed.

Are my tyres covered by Mazda’s warranty?
Tyres installed as original equipment on Mazda vehicles are warranted by their respective manufacturers and are not included in the New Vehicle Warranty. Penfold Mazda can assist you with any questions you may have on tyre warranty or if your tyres need replacing. Please call on (03) 9268 1222 for further assistance.
I have a concern with my dealer fitted products and accessories. Who should I contact?
If you have any questions regarding these products please contact the Penfold Mazda Service Centre on (03) 9268 1294.
If I modify my vehicle does it affect my warranty?
Mazda does not recommend or endorse any modifications of any kind or the fitment of any non-genuine accessories to its vehicles. Doing so may adversely impact your New Vehicle Warranty if it is considered their use precipitated a concern with the vehicle. Rectification in these circumstances would be at retail rates.
Please contact Penfold Mazda Service on (03) 9268 1294 if you have any queries.
Can the unused portion of an extended warranty be transferred to another vehicle?
No. A New Vehicle Warranty is assigned to a specific vehicle and remains with it until expiry.
Will my vehicle’s warranty be affected if I take it overseas?
The Mazda New Vehicle warranty that applies to vehicles distributed in Australia by Mazda Australia is not transferable to other Mazda agents overseas. If a Mazda purchased here was taken overseas and developed a concern, for it to be addressed as a warranty matter it would need to be transported to Australia to be inspected by a Mazda Australia authorised dealership. The only exception is Mazda New Zealand with whom there exists a reciprocal arrangement.
