Tyres
Simply checking your tyre pressure weekly will assist in reducing fuel consumption and increase tyre life. Overtime under inflated tyre pressure will cause uneven tyre wear.

As part of your checking procedure watch for:
  • Cord or Fabric Showing
  • Tread or sidewall is cut, split or cracked
  • Bulges from your tyre.
Yes, tyres should be replaced if they are showing any of the above signs.

Oil
Oil levels should be checked weekly. Check levels when the oil is warm, or when stopping for fuel. Oil is the life blood of your car. By choosing the right oil for your engine, monitoring it regularly you will ensure optimum mileage and performance at all times.

Air Conditioning
It is advisable every week to switch on your air-conditioning regardless of condition; this will lubricate the air-conditioned system seals. Remember heavy use of air-conditioning will affect your vehicles fuel economy.

Engine Coolant
As with oil levels engine coolant should be checked regularly. If your coolant level is below the safety marker levels it is advisable to visit our service centres for a top up.

Brakes
Some simple things to look for that signal your brake fluid or brakes require attention.
  • Spongy brake pedals

  • fluid leaks

These may mean your brake fluid or brake pads need changing.

Washer Fluid Levels
Check and top up washer fluid weekly for a clean crisp screen add a good quality washer fluid.

Interior
A few handy tips for cleaning the interior of your Mazda:
  • Clean plastic, vinyl, leather, fabric and flocked parts with a soft cloth soaked in lukewarm water and a small amount of neutral detergent.
  • Don't use cleaners, conditioners or protectants that contain silicone or wax. These products may cause annoying reflections that obscure your vision.
  • Clean the carpet with a vacuum cleaner and remove any stains with carpet cleaner.
  • Oil and grease can be removed from carpets by lightly dabbing with a clean, colourfast cloth and stain remover.

Exterior
Keep the exterior of your Mazda looking clean and new by ensuring the following:
  • If the exterior of your vehicle comes into contact with saltwater, anti-freeze, soot or dust, iron powder, bird droppings or any corrosive chemical substances, be sure to wash it immediately.
  • After washing your vehicle, make sure all traces of soap or detergent are removed, and wipe it dry with a soft cloth.
  • After washing, also carefully clean the joints and flanges of the doors and engine hood where dirt is likely to hide from view.
  • If you live in a coastal area, it’s particularly important to wash your car regularly. Wind-born spray from the sea can distribute salt for a distance of up to 20 kilometres from the sea
  • For 4WD vehicles such as the Bravo, it’s important to keep the underside clean – particularly if you drive off-road. This will remove corrosive dirt, dust and salt water.
